As refreshing as it is to run in the winter, it can be mighty painful. It’s not an old wives’ tale. Sometimes the weather can impact joints and cause extra, unwanted pain. There are things you can do to alleviate that pain and really make the most of your run this chilly winter season.
- Make sure you have a good pair of shoes. You already know this as a runner, but it’s better to reiterate than ignore the issue. Changes in barometric pressure in the winter, when the air is denser, makes us more aware of bodily aches and pains. You feel your joints more so now than you did before. Having a good pair of running shoes with a good sole and cushion will help alleviate some of that joint pain.
- Joint supplements for runners and athletes. There are things you can do to help with arthritis pain relief and strengthen cartilage in your joints. Running is great exercise, but if you don’t take care of your joints, it can be brutal in the long run. That’s is why joint supplements for athletes are so popular. It rebuilds cartilage. - Work out basics. Not that we have to tell you this, but as a precaution before any sort of exercise regimen, make sure you stretch before you begin your run. It’s good for your muscles, but good for your joints as well.
Running in the winter can be rather refreshing. But it won’t be so refreshing if you’re in pain. Joint supplements for runners can make the world of a difference if you take regularly as described.
